You are mine

Drowning. Desperate. Overwhelmed. Stressed beyond belief. Blinded by panic. Scared. Anxious. Isolated.

If you are feeling any of these things right now, then today’s words of comfort from Isaiah 43-45 are for you. Because yes, God originally spoke these words to His people in exile, but we are His people too and He is speaking these words to us today too.

I created you. I formed you.

Don’t be afraid.

I have redeemed you – rescued you, retrieved you, reclaimed you. You are mine.

I have called you by name. You are mine.

Whatever you are going through right now, I am there. Nothing can overwhelm you. Nothing can harm you.

Because I am God.

And you are precious to me. You are treasured.

And I love you.

Don’t be afraid. I am with you.

You belong to me.

I created you for my glory. Yes, you. I knew what I was doing.

I promised to save you and I keep all my promises. No one else can save you.

I am holy. I am Creator. I am King.

Forget how things were. I am doing a new thing. An exciting thing.

I can see past whatever you have done and not done.

I can forgive all that. I can forget all that.

I made you. I formed you in the womb. I chose you. Of course, I will help you.

Don’t be afraid. I chose you.

You belong to me. I’m ready to pour out my spirit on you.

I am the first and I am the last. Apart from me, there is no God. Don’t ever think that you or anyone else can come up with something even close to measuring up to me.

Stop shaking. Don’t be afraid.

I have made you. Return to your maker.

I made all things. Everything that you can see in the world around you was made by me.

I will go before you. I will break down everything that stands in your way. I will give you hidden treasures.

Then you will know for sure that I am the one true God. The God who calls you by name.

I am the Lord and there is no other.

Even when you’re ignoring me, I will strengthen you.

I am the Lord and there is no other.

I made the earth. I made every human who has ever lived. I made you.

I know what I’m doing.

I am the Lord and there is no other.

Turn to me. Come back to me. Be saved.

I am God and there is no other.
