How to do church Part 13: let each other get on with serving God

WHAT IT SAYS:

This is a message for all who judge me:

Don’t try to tell me that I have no authority to write like this. Or to write at all.

I am free to do whatever I want. Whatever I feel God has called me to do.

There are people out there who’ve found what I write helpful. Maybe you are one of those people.

I’ve learnt to stand up to my critics. I’ve learnt the hard way.

I don’t ask much from other people. But I can’t always be expected to be the one to give, give, give…to organise everything for everyone.

Having said that, the most important thing for me is to communicate the truth about living life Jesus’ way. It always has been. Dragging me down just prevents me from getting this life-changing message out there. I’m not doing any of this for myself. I love it though – it’s the greatest privilege I can think of.

I believe I have been called to take this message of life to places it has never been before. I want to make the message relevant to people in their own situations. I try to understand where other people are coming from. I try to start from where they’re at. It really is the only way.

I work hard at what I do. I give it lots of energy and time and attention, like training for a race. I aim to do my best in everything I do. I give it my all.

What’s the point in me telling others about living life to the full and not live life to the full myself?

This message for us as church today was based on 1 Corinthians 9.
