When you don’t have much to bring….

This one’s for you if you’re so emotional that you cry at every Christmas ad on TV.

This one’s for you if you feel like you haven’t done enough to create the perfect Christmas for your kids.

This one’s for you if you’re so exhausted you can barely function, let alone cook a Christmas dinner for 15.

This one’s for you if this feels like the worst Christmas ever.

This one’s for you if you’re all churched out. If you can’t face singing ‘Away in a manger’ again.

This one’s for you if you feel like you have nothing left to give.

I hadn’t ever come across this song before, but I’m liking the words. This video has had  108,905,649 views on YouTube, so there must be plenty of people out there who feel this way at some point in their lives!

Take Me to the King

Take me to the king
I don’t have much to bring
My heart is torn in pieces
It’s my offering
Take me to the king

Truth is I’m tired
Options are few
I’m trying to pray
But where are you?
I’m all churched out
Hurt and abused
I can’t fake
What’s left to do?

Truth is I’m weak
No strength to fight
No tears to cry
Even if I tried
But still my soul
Refuses to die
One touch-will change-my life

Take me to the king
I don’t have much to bring
My heart’s torn into pieces
It’s my offering

Lay me at the throne
Leave me there alone
To gaze upon your glory
And sing to you this song
Please take me to the king

Truth is it’s time
To stop playing these games
We need a word
For the people’s pain

So lord speak right now
Let it fall like rain
We’re desperate
We’re chasing after you

No rules,…   Tamela Mann

So if you’re struggling with the question ‘What shall I bring to the king?’ that I posed in yesterday’s blog, then maybe here’s your answer.

Take me to the king
I don’t have much to bring
My heart’s torn into pieces
It’s my offering.
